Alivia goes to her 1st Dance Class

Carl and I decided it would be fun to enroll Alivia in dance classes. There's a local studio here (Owasso Dance Co.) that just opened and they so happened to have began classes within the last week. The ages are 2-3 and the class is called "Creative Moment." After witnessing this "creative moment" I can't say I'm sure of what they are trying to teach them, but what can you expect out of 2 year olds. The first 15 minutes of the 30 minute class was spent just trying to get the kids calmed down and to pay attention.

Lookin' Cute

They all looked so cute in their little leotards and tights though!

Trip's 1st Birthday

I'm finally getting a chance to update the blog, as the kids are taking their afternoon naps. Last Saturday, we had Trip's 1st Birthday party here at the house. The plans were to have it at a local park her in Owasso, but Hurricane Ike had different plans. It had rained here most of the latter part of the week and all day on Saturday. Of course, Sunday it cleared up and was perfect, but we made the best of it and moved the party inside. We did get a chance to get out on the back porch and the kids took turns taking swings at the pinata.

When it came time for cake, well Trip didn't care too much for it. I had to take his hands and kind of smish them around in the cake and then he took his hands and rubbed icing all in his eyes. Needless to say, he was not a happy camper.
(Before the cake.)

We had to put in the bath after all the mess with the cake. (He usually loves his baths) Not this time!!

The best part of the last week is he has improved considerably with his walking. He's now walking more than crawling and getting around great. He'll be running in a couple of weeks, I'm sure of it.

Labor Day Weekend

The family went to the lake with Mamaw and Papap Novara. It was Alivia and Trip's first time out on the lake. It started bad for poor Trip. He hated the life jacket and was having none of it. After getting out to the middle of the lake, I reluctantly took it off for a while and he seemed to calm down. Later we picked up Michael and Christine by their house and the kids were crashed out by the end of the trip.
